What is a Metro Mayor?
A Metro Mayor is a directly elected Mayor, who will chair a combined authority under a devolution deal. The newly elected Metro Mayors will have the power and responsibility to make strategic decisions for combined authorities in their regions, instigate mayoral development corporations and more. On May 4th Greater Manchester, Liverpool City Region, Cambridge and Peterborough, Tees Valley, West Midlands and West of England all elected new Metro Mayors.
