What makes a great city? Is it the buildings? The cafés and restaurants that sit within them? Is it the history of a place – the music, the sporting venues, the cultural identity? Is it the transport links, to get people in, and equally to get people out, to the surrounding landscape and connected towns and villages? Is it the homes and businesses? The politics? The passion?
It’s all of these things and more, but the heartbeat of a great city comes from its people. The people that laugh, argue, jostle, joke, fight, love, and fill the spaces that frame a city, that pack the pubs on a Friday, that watch the match on Saturday, that clean the car on Sunday, and board the trams for work on Monday. It’s the people that set the pace of a place, that decide on what type of city they want to live in, to build, to create.
And that’s why Iceni are all about people. Our clients, the local authorities we work with, the communities we talk to. The people that choose to join us. We are building an office in Manchester that will reflect everything that is great about the North West: it’s vitally important that our people want to commit to the city they work in as well as their careers. Because what we do for a living is not incidental. We’re here to ensure that we contribute to creating and improving great cities, by great people, for great people.
If you’ve an inkling to what it means to be one of our people, we’d love to hear from you.
